Kara G. Pass
President & CEO
Kara Joined Market Street Trust in 2019 as President and CEO. In this role, Kara works closely with the Board of Directors and leadership team to shape and develop our long-term, client-focused strategic plan while overseeing all of Market Street’s integrated wealth management services. Prior to joining Market Street Trust, Pass was Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Tompkins Financial Advisors overseeing approximately $1.6 billion in assets under management. In addition to leading a team of financial advisors, trust officers, portfolio managers, financial planners and wealth associates, she also led the Tompkins Financial Corporation’s Innovation team and served on the Tompkins Trust Company Bank’s leadership team. Pass started her career in banking as a teller in 1993, and throughout the years led retail and commercial lending teams before overseeing Tompkins wealth management arm.
Pass received her B.A. from Roanoke College and M.P.A. from Cornell University. Kara serves on the board of the Life Is Good Foundation and is deeply involved in her local community as a volunteer and board member for many civic and non-profit organizations including the United Way of Tompkins County, the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, Tompkins Cortland Community College Foundation and the Ithaca Community Childcare Center.
Michael R. Eisner, CFA
Senior Vice President, Chief Investment Officer
Mike is responsible for developing and communicating Market Street's investment program's strategies, policies and vehicles. He also has overall responsibilities for asset allocation and manager mix.
Mike is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and brings over twenty years' experience to Market Street. Prior to joining Market Street, Mike served as Vice President and Chief Investment Officer - Benefit Plan Investments for Avaya, where he had oversight of the corporation's $4.3 billion benefit plan trusts. He was responsible for all aspects of investment strategy and policy, investment manager selection and operation of the pension, savings and post-retirement health and life insurance trusts. Previously, Mike served as a Vice President at AT&T Investment Management Corporation, where he held various positions overseeing investments in equities, fixed income and alternative investments for both pension and savings plans.
Mike received a B.A. from Colgate University and an M.B.A. from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is also a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts. Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Mike also serves on the Investment Committee for the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and Finger Lakes, Inc., after previously serving as Treasurer, Chairman of the Investment Committee and Board Trustee.
Tricia S. Khan
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Tricia is responsible for maintaining the integrity of accounting information and financial records for Market Street and its Clients, implementing strategic initiatives for corporate finance, and providing general oversight of the Accounting functional area. She works closely with Market Street’s internal and independent auditors, and assists with compliance and reporting to the New Hampshire Banking Department.
Prior to joining Market Street in 2017, Tricia was a Controller with Nucor Corporation where she managed the Finance, Procurement, Human Resources and Information Technology departments at one of its New York divisions. Tricia previously served as a Tax Manager with Ernst & Young, where she provided tax advisory and compliance services to financial institutions doing business within the Caribbean. Tricia is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons.) degree from the University of London.
Vice President, Chief Client Family Services Officer
Toby is responsible for ensuring that each Market Street client has an excellent experience when it comes to their interactions with our wealth advisory professionals and integrated services. Toby oversees the Client Family Services team in their work to provide holistic financial, tax, fiduciary, investment, estate planning, and other services to individuals and family groups.
Prior to joining Market Street, Toby was managing director of Deloitte Tax and also Deloitte Private Wealth Practice leader for the Carolinas. There he was responsible for coordinating and adjusting client assignments, managing pricing and engagement economics, ensuring the highest quality of services to clients, as well as following and maintaining internal quality assurance practices.
Toby received both his B.S. in Business Administration and his Master in Accounting degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently a Certified Public Accountant, North Carolina, and a member of the AICPA and North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Chief Fiduciary Officer
Brendan joined Market Street in 2020 and as a member of the Trust and Compliance team, Brendan is responsible for ongoing trust and estate administration and oversight of related policies and procedures. He is also an active partner with the Client Family Services, Tax and Investment teams to provide complete trust, estate and investment management services. This role includes coordinating and providing assistance with the development and execution of trust and estate documents to meet client needs.
Prior to joining Market Street, Brendan was a shareholder at Devine, Millimet & Branch, P.A. in Manchester, New Hampshire and, earlier, a partner at Rubin and Rubin, LLP in Boston, Massachusetts. At both firms, his practice included the analysis and interpretation of trust and estate documents, and litigation arising from trust and estate disputes.
Brendan is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Cornell Law School, and recently earned his MBA at the University of New Hampshire. He is licensed to practice law in New Hampshire, New York and Massachusetts. Brendan serves and has served on a number of boards, including the Aquinas House at Dartmouth College Board of Trustees, the Bedford Land Trust and the Andover/North Andover YMCA, and is an active coach of youth soccer and basketball. Brendan lives in Bedford, New Hampshire with his wife and two children.
Chief Client Family Services Officer
Rusdi joined Market Street in 2020 to lead the financial planning program and to oversee the management of client relationships. She works closely with all of Market Street’s relationship managers, as well as the Trust, Tax, Investments, and Insurance teams to deliver full financial plans to all of our clients.
Prior to joining Market Street, Sumner was Vice President and Managing Director of Tompkins Financial Advisors, overseeing approximately $1.6 billion in assets under management. In addition to leading a team of financial advisors, trust officers, portfolio managers, financial planners and wealth associates, she also served on the Tompkins Trust Company Bank’s leadership team and as an Innovation Ambassador. Prior to being appointment Managing Director, Sumner was responsible for financial planning for the Central New York region, serving clients located throughout the country. Before joining Tompkins Financial Advisors, Sumner was President and Co-Owner of Avalon Homes, a custom home building and land development company for 10 years.
Sumner received a B.A. from Cortland State University summa cum laude in Business Economics and Communications. She also holds a dual-degree MBA with distinction from Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson School of Management and the Smith School of Business, Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario, CA). Rusdi serves on the board as Treasurer for the Ithaca Community Childcare Center and previously served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity and Better Housing for Tompkins County.
Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer
Matt's responsibilities include system administration, staff support, network security and help desk administration. He joined Market Street as a full time employee in 2013 after spending six years as an IT consultant for the company.
Before joining Market Street, Matt owned and operated an Information Technology managed service provider which offered systems administration and network security for small to mid-sized businesses in the southern tier of New York. Additionally he offered web design and staff training to his clients. Prior to that Matt worked for Corning Inc. as a technical lead on global Information Technology projects involving Sarbanes Oxley compliance, E-Discovery response and the electronic archival of legacy scientific research. He brings seventeen years of IT experience to Market Street.
Matt is working towards a masters degree in Information Technology Management.
